Bob Strange – VP Procurement

Bob Strange serves as Fawn Industries’ Vice President of Procurement. He joined the Company in 1988 as Director of Procurement. He was earlier associated with EMC Controls in variety of materials, logistics and proposal development management positions.

Bob oversees the procurement function for both Fawn Plastics and Fawn Electronics. This benefits customers of both divisions by ensuring that procurement strategy adequately addresses variations in supply base lead-time, cost competitiveness and quality over a wide range of commodities.

During his tenure at Fawn, Bob has been responsible for driving a range of best practices and cost improvement methodologies. Two significant examples in that area are Fawn’s MRP Share bonded inventory program and Fawn’s global sourcing expansion effort. The MRP Share program creates in-bond inventory with major franchised and independent distributors, minimizing both Fawn’s and its customers’ overall inventory liability.

Bob also identified Fawn’s Asian joint venture manufacturing partner Newtec International Ltd. and was instrumental in structuring the relationship. Today Newtec International supplies components and assemblies to Fawn’s manufacturing facilities while the Fawn-Newtec Limited joint venture provides manufacturing to Fawn’s automotive customer base in both North America and Asia.
